A
Brief History of Our Church:
|

1878-1909 |

1909-present
|
|
The Bridgeville UMC held it’s first worship service back in
1878 with twelve founding members. As our ministry we grew we held
services throughout the Bridgeville area until we began an exciting year
of ministry in our new church building on January 1, 1887 (currently the
site of St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church of Holy Child Parish). God
blessed us and we quickly outgrew this beautiful building. In October of
1909 we began worshipping and ministering to the community from our
present location on Station Street in Bridgeville, Pennsylvania. Since
then, God's blessings have been wonderful as we have sought to faithfully
share His Word within the Bridgeville community and throughout the world.
We are currently in the midst of celebrating 125 years of continuous
ministry. Praise God!

| Worship is a paramount to
our understanding of faith. Beyond the opportunity to gather in
worship and praise, First United Methodist Church helps people along
their spiritual journey of the mind, body and spirit. |
