First United Methodist Church of Bridgeville, Pennsylvania

Dating back to the first service in 1878, the Bridgeville United Methodist Church has been a cornerstone of the Bridgeville, Pennsylvania community. Since 1909, we have been worshipping and ministering to the community
at our church, which is located on Station Street.

Since then, God's blessings have been wonderful as we have sought to faithfully share His Word throughout the community and world. We encourage you to seek the Lord and strongly consider attending one of our services. Our church family wants to help you grow in spirit and faith together. May God bless you!

Matthew 16:18-19 New International Version (NIV)
18 And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. 19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”

We will be a center of discovery for faith and discipleship, open to all who wish to experience the joy of Christ's love.

Our Purpose
To mature our faith in Jesus Christ, share the Good News, and celebrate God's love.

Our Mission
Our mission calls us to spread the Good News of God's glory and love by: working together in the Spirit of Christ to nurture humanity regardless of differences. Stressing the importance of giving our time, our talents, and tithe as an expression of our thanks to God. Enlivening and enlarging the spirit and membership of our church family through creative worship and outreach.

The fountain outside the entrance to our church is dedicated in loving memory of former church member Heidi Overmier, who was tragically killed in the Bridgeville LA Fitness shooting, August 4, 2009. In addition to being a wonderful mother to her son Ian, Heidi was an active member in our church who lived her faith and brought a smile to anyone who knew her. May her body rest in peace and her soul watch over anyone who graces the halls of our church.

Are you in need of a prayer? Is your body and soul in need of healing? Stop by our Prayer Garden  every Thursday at 10 a.m. to pray with our members. Can't make it, but still need a prayer? Leave us a prayer card and we'll pray for you.
