Rev.
Dr. Edward P. Saxman, is a 1984 graduate of West Virginia Wesleyan
College, Buckhannon, WV, a 1993 Master of Divinity graduate of Pittsburgh
Theological Seminary, Pittsburgh, PA, and a 2004 Doctoral graduate of
Wesley Theological Seminary. Pastor Ed began preaching in 1989 as a
student pastor assigned to Amity UMC. He is an “ordained elder” within
the Western Pennsylvania Conference of the United Methodist Church. Pastor
Ed is currently the Washington District Youth Co-coordinator and is
currently a Co-Dean for the Creative
Arts Thing Camp at Jumonville. He serves as President of the
Goodwill Housing Board of Directors and is a member Institutional Review
Board for the University of Pittsburgh.
Ed and
his wife, Susan have three children: Paul, 21 yrs; Megan, 18 yrs; and
Jonathon, 12 yrs. The Saxman family came to First United Methodist Church
of Bridgeville in July of 1995 from Amity UMC and hopes to stay for a
significant tenure.
Formerly
a self-employed potter, Ed loves to create wheel-thrown pottery and has
used this and other art forms often in seminar and worship settings. He
also enjoys singing, karate, running, reading, and computers.
