As First United Methodist Church begins this online extension of its prayer ministry, prayer requests will be forwarded once weekly to our online prayer warriors.

Prayer is a powerful privilege we have been given as Christians to transform the world into the body of Christ.

1. Prayer is an act of faith and praise to God.
2. Prayer calls for divine aid to the needs of creation.
3. Prayer invites God establish unity within the faith community.
4. Prayer requests God’s attentiveness to our personal needs. 

Below are a couple of scripture passages that will help focus the importance of what you are about to do today. There is also a list of potential prayer subjects to help you guide your time with God.  

“For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope. Then when you come to me and pray to me, I will hear you…” Jeremiah 29:12 

Jesus told a parable about the need to pray always and with humility and not to lose heart. Read Luke 18:1-14 

“Whatever you ask for in prayer with faith, you will receive.” Matthew 21:22

“The prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise them up; and anyone who committed sins will be forgiven. Therefore, confess your sins before one another, and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective.” James 5:15-16

“The Spirit helps us in our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but that very Spirit intercedes with sighs too deep for words.” Romans 8:26

1. Pray for a unity of spirit within 1^st UMC of Bridgeville.
2. Pray for an effective ministry by the congregation of 1^st UMC.
3. Pray for a spirit of revival within 1^st UMC of Bridgeville.

2. Pray for those who do not know or accept the Jesus Christ.
3. Pray for indifferent and the arrogant.
